Hoshino Resort Tomamu Opens an Ice Hotel Featuring Guest Rooms and an Open-Air Bath Made Entirely of Ice – Limited to One Group per Day
Hoshino Resort Tomamu is opening an “Ice Hotel” where guests can experience staying in a space made entirely out of ice, from the guest rooms to the terrace and open-air bath, from January 20th to February 28th, 2025.
The guest rooms are dome-shaped with approximately 8.5 meters in diameter and 3.5 meters in height, created from a seamless piece of ice. The ceiling, walls, chairs, tables, and other pieces of furniture such as beds are all made of ice, with the bed set up facing the ice terrace. Inside the room, there is an ice mini-bar where guests can enjoy wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and snacks. The “Ice Open-Air Bath” surrounded by ice offers a hot spring experience with sodium chloride cold mineral spring water drawn from the Yunosawa Onsen in Shimukappu Village, surrounded by ice. On the “Ice Terrace,” where one can enjoy the light of lanterns in front of a lit-up white birch, chairs and tables made of ice are set up.
The price is 28,000 yen per person (including tax and service charge), for elementary school students and above staying at Tomamu The Tower or Risonare Tomamu. Reservations can be made on the official website until 7 days before the stay.
