OMO5 Okinawa Naha by Hoshino Resorts has introduced a new guest room themed after Okinawan pottery, known as ‘yachimun’, starting November 1.
The theme is described as “a room where you can meet 100 yachimun pieces and 100 creators”. It gathers 100 yachimun works, each with different colors, shapes, patterns, styles, techniques, and textures, all made in various locations within Okinawa Prefecture. From traditional pieces decorated with fish motifs symbolizing prosperity for future generations to pieces featuring the clear blue reminiscent of the Okinawan sea, the room showcases the rich variety of works ranging from traditional styles mastered by veterans to younger creators expressing their creativity freely. Guests can touch and feel the texture and usability of the pieces they are curious about. Additionally, the room offers a ‘Yachimun Guide’ compiling workshop and store information, bed liners and cushion covers themed after the bougainvillea pattern of yachimun, sanpin tea, coffee from local shops, chinsuko, Orion beer, and awamori, along with a souvenir ticket for Tsuboya Yachimun Street.
Prices start from 18,000 yen per night per room (excluding tax, room only) and can accommodate up to 3 guests.
