Myanmar Begins Issuing Visa on Arrival for Japanese Nationals Among Others
The government of Myanmar has started issuing Visa on Arrival (VoA) from October 21.
This will be a trial period for one year, starting from October 21. Eligible passport holders are those issued by the governments of Japan, South Korea, and Macao. The visa is only available for tourism purposes, valid for 30 days with no extensions allowed. A passport with at least six months of remaining validity is required.
Upon arrival at the airport in Myanmar, travelers must fill out a special form and submit it along with two color passport photos. The fee is 50 US dollars. It is also possible to exit from a different location than the arrival airport.
