Nankai Electric Railway to Revise Timetable on December 21 to Improve Airport Access Convenience
Nankai Electric Railway will revise its timetable on the Nankai Line on December 21.
In anticipation of the increasing demand for the airport line due to the upcoming Osaka/Kansai World Expo, a timetable revision will be carried out.
The “Rapit β” express, which currently stops at Sakai and Kishiwada stations, will be changed to the “Rapit α” express that bypasses these stations, with 20 out of 55 services on weekdays and 24 out of 59 services on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays being altered. This is to make it easier for passengers to purchase express tickets between the busy stations of Namba, Shin-Imamiya, and Tengachaya to Kansai Airport Station, thereby improving convenience for airport access.
The number of cars for the airport express will be increased from 6 to 8, and the number of services will be increased by three on weekdays and by one on weekends and holidays. Changes will also be made to some train types, operating times, and departure and arrival tracks.
