Finnair Starts Operating Refurbished Embraer E190 Aircraft
Finnair has started operating its newly refurbished Embraer E190 aircraft.
Similar to the refurbished widebody aircraft and lounges, the cabin features a color scheme of dark blue and grey. Comfort has been enhanced in seats up to row 9 with a new design and improved cushioning. Seats from row 10 and beyond do not recline. The aircraft has a seating capacity of 100.
The airline plans to refurbish seven aircraft by the winter of 2025, with the remaining to be completed by the winter of 2026, aiming to finish refurbishments on all 12 aircraft by the spring of 2026. The goal is to achieve a weight reduction of about 150 kilograms per aircraft.
The Embraer E190 aircraft are used on short-haul routes across Europe, including domestic flights within Finland.
