
MAVCOM Cancels Batik Air Malaysia’s Traffic Rights for Nagoya/Chubu & Okinawa/Naha – Taipei/Taoyuan – Kota Kinabalu Route
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announced that the section between Akan Interchange (IC) and Kushiro Nishi IC on the Doto Expressway will be opened on December 22nd at 3 PM. With this, Sapporo and Kushiro will be directly connected by highway.
Spanning 17 kilometers, the availability of the Kushiro Airport IC, located approximately 5 kilometers from Kushiro Airport, is expected to improve the punctuality and speed of travel between the airport and tourist destinations.
The transportation of fresh Pacific saury, which accounts for 60% of the national share caught in the Kushiro and Nemuro areas, will also see changes. The round trip transportation time between Akkeshi Port and Tomakomai Port by truck, including cargo handling and rest time, can be reduced to 11.9 hours.
A commemorative opening ceremony will be held at the Akan Town Public Hall in Kushiro City from 10:30 AM on the same day, followed by the ‘start of passage’ through the newly opened section from noon.
