JR East to Operate Overnight Trains on 7 Lines in the Tokyo Area from New Year’s Eve to New Year’s Day
JR East and Shochiku Enter Comprehensive Business Partnership
JR East and Shochiku have announced a comprehensive business partnership contract, set for a duration of 10 years.
By combining Shochiku Group’s creative prowess in Japanese culture and entertainment with JR East Group’s multi-layered network rooted in local communities, they aim to address social issues and contribute to regional societies through the inheritance and development of Japanese culture.
Utilizing digital technology, they plan to create new immersive experiences that allow travelers to enjoy related content from the start of their journey through spaces such as the Shinkansen. Efforts will also be made to promote the ‘sacredization’ of areas with local Kabuki performances and anime content, propose walking tour plans using mobility data and entertainment contents, and advance the nighttime economy.
In March 2025, a “Kabuki-za Stage Experience Premium Tour” will be launched for the Adult Holiday Club members, and a private performance of the March Grand Kabuki “Kanadehon Chushingura” daytime show will also be held.
