New Control Tower at Fukuoka Airport to Start Operations on December 5
Narita International Airport Reports a Net Profit of 19.5 Billion Yen for April to September 2024, Foreign Passenger Numbers Hit Record High
Narita International Airport has announced its interim financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2025. The interim net profit was 19.5 billion yen.
Operating revenues were 127.6 billion yen (up 27.9% from the same period last year), operating expenses were 104.7 billion yen (up 9.8% from the same period last year), and operating income was 22.8 billion yen (up 428.2% from the same period last year). Net profit increased more than fourfold from the same period last year.
There was an increase in both the number of aircraft takeoffs and landings and the number of passengers. In particular, the number of foreign passengers exceeded 10 million for the first time in the first half of the year, setting a new record. Retail and food and beverage sales, buoyed by the weak yen, were strong, leading to the highest operating revenue since privatization.
Considering the strong performance of the retail business, among others, the full-year financial forecast has been revised upwards. Operating revenue is expected to be 255.1 billion yen, operating expenses 227.1 billion yen, operating income 27.9 billion yen, ordinary income 26.2 billion yen, and net income 22.1 billion yen.
