Turkish Airlines Launches Flights to Sydney via Kuala Lumpur, Operating Four Round Trips Weekly
Turkish Airlines inaugurated its Istanbul-Kuala Lumpur-Sydney route on November 29.
Flights from Istanbul are scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, while flights from Sydney depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, making a total of four round trips each week. The aircraft used is the Airbus A350-900, equipped with 32 business class and 297 economy class seats, totaling 329 seats. The flight duration is 19 hours 15 minutes from Istanbul and 21 hours 35 minutes from Sydney.
The airline anticipates eventually operating direct flights. In New South Wales, where Sydney is located, there are over 15,000 residents of Turkish origin.
The launch of the route to Australia follows the Melbourne route opened in March this year, marking the airline’s second route to the continent. With this, Turkish Airlines has expanded its network to 351 cities across six continents.
