British Airways Celebrates Christmas in Lounges and Onboard with an Extra 100,000 Brussels Sprouts

British Airways is celebrating Christmas with decorations and special meals.

Christmas decorations will adorn terminals at London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports, lounges around the world, and onboard the planes.

Lounges at London’s two airports will offer a winter picnic menu, Christmas pop-up stalls featuring British brands, and a gift-wrapping station where Santa’s helpers will wrap presents in specially designed wrapping paper.

In the Club Lounges, there will be pop-up stalls featuring British brands with individually wrapped chocolates from Harry Specter’s and The Cocoa Bean Company, and handmade biscuits from Biscuiteers in the Concorde Room. The Concorde Room will also offer tastings of Talisker’s limited edition 45-year-old Scotch whisky. All lounges will provide mince pies, brie and cranberry sandwiches, and special Christmas cocktails.

The long-haul business class, Club World, will feature a Christmas Turkey Dinner, serving 250,000 turkey dinners including 400,000 pig-in-blankets and 700,000 Brussels sprouts, an increase of 100,000 Brussels sprouts from the previous year. A special gift of a Cartwright & Butler fudge box will also be included. In First Class, between December 23 and 25, to celebrate 100 years of service to India, handwritten ornaments and commemorative amenity kits from Temperley London will be given as gifts.

In short-haul business class, Club Europe, a special Christmas menu will be served on select routes from December 24 to 27. In World Traveller, the economy class, Christmas hats will be given out with meals from December 15 to 27. For children, there will be chocolate treats and activity sheets featuring Peggy and Leon, and a chance to send letters to the North Pole via Santa’s postbox in the lounge.

First Class and Club World passengers will also enjoy a special afternoon tea featuring chocolate éclairs and fruitcake. Special warm cocktails using Johnny Walker Blue in First Class and Johnny Walker Black in Club World will also be offered.
