Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Issues Warnings about Terrorism in Europe and America
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a wide-ranging alert urging caution against terrorism in Europe and America.
The alert states that the likelihood of terrorism increases during the holiday and event season, such as Christmas and New Year’s, due to larger gatherings and movements of people.
In recent years in Europe and America, there has been a frequency of terrorist attacks targeting soft targets, where security and surveillance are less strict, and these often involve crowds of civilians. Many of these attacks have been carried out by lone individuals, making preemptive policing difficult. Tourism sites, event venues, restaurants, hotels, shopping malls, public transportation, and religious facilities are particularly prone to being targeted by terrorism, necessitating constant vigilance.
The Ministry is urging everyone to always seek the latest information and pay close attention to safety measures.
