The Ministry of Justice in South Korea has announced the extension of the temporary waiver period for the K-ETA application until December 31, 2025.
As part of the initiative to revitalize the tourism industry, “Visit Korea Year (2023~2024),” the exemption for K-ETA applications was initially set to end on December 31, 2024. This waiver period has now been extended by one year, making the new deadline the end of 2025. Countries and regions that are eligible for the K-ETA temporary waiver will also have their exemption period extended until 2025.
Furthermore, citizens from exempted countries who wish to apply for K-ETA to avail of benefits such as skipping the entry declaration form at immigration can still do so, and a fee will be charged.
