Lufthansa Group has expanded its Green Fares to cover all routes starting from December 4.
This initiative supports the offset of carbon dioxide through the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and contributions to climate protection projects. Since its introduction in February 2023 for short and medium-haul routes, over two million people have used it, offsetting about 190,000 tons of carbon dioxide. Now, with the expansion to long-haul routes, more than 850,000 flights across all cabin classes will become available annually.
In addition to supporting environmental efforts, Green Fares offer additional miles and points and the option for free rebooking.
Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, SWISS International Air Lines, Edelweiss Air, Eurowings Discover, and Air Dolomiti are included, while individual routes operated by other airlines and joint venture partners are excluded.
