JAL Hosts Christmas Event at Haneda: Santa and Reindeer Send Off Flights
Japan Airlines (JAL) hosted a Christmas event at Haneda Airport on December 25.
At Terminal 1, to coincide with the departure of flight JL987 to Okinawa/Naha (Boeing 767-300ER, registration number: JA610J) at 11:30 AM, five volunteer ground staff performed an ensemble with trumpets, clarinets, flutes, and violins, playing a medley of five Christmas songs including “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” “Jingle Bells,” “We Wish You A Merry Christmas,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” and “Sleigh Ride.”
On the ground, containers decorated as Christmas presents appeared. Ground handling staff dressed as Santa Claus and reindeers boarded towing tractors, showcasing them to passengers of flight JL987 and to people gathered on the observation deck.
Meanwhile, at Terminal 3, a Christmas concert “JAL Christmas music session” was held by JAL Group employees. Alongside the music bell performance team “JAL Bellstars,” made up of volunteers from the cabin crew who perform annually, this year also featured the choir “FREUDE” composed of employees and alumni, and the band “JGS Beats” comprising eight volunteer ground handling staff. Each group performed Christmas-themed music in front of the audience gathered in front of the Edo stage on the 4th floor of the terminal.
