Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced that it is currently assessing the scope of impact and checking the system’s recovery status due to a network equipment failure caused by a cyberattack.
The cyberattack commenced at 7:24 AM on December 26th, targeting network equipment that connects internal and external networks. At 8:56 AM, the routers causing the malfunction were temporarily disconnected.
Delays have occurred in both domestic and international flight operations, and JAL has suspended ticket sales for all flights operating today, including both domestic and international routes.
