JR West Offers 5% WESTER Points Rebate on Sanyo Shinkansen Rides with a Lottery of Up to 35,000 Points

JR West is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the full opening of the Sanyo Shinkansen by launching a campaign that offers WESTER points as a gift, from January 14 to March 10, 2025.

The eligible segments include all stations between Shin-Osaka and Hakata on the Sanyo Shinkansen, with eligible services being ‘e5489’ or the ‘EX Service’ (Express Reservation, Smart EX). All participants will receive WESTER points equivalent to 5% of their spending, with a maximum of 50,000 points per ID.

Additionally, a lottery will award extra WESTER points. The prizes are: 1,000 points for 100 series winners (1,985 winners), 3,000 points for 300 series winners (1,992 winners), 5,000 points for 500 series winners (1,997 winners), and 7,000 points for 700 series winners (1,999 winners). Those who do not win any of these prizes will have a chance, at a rate of one in fifty applicants, to receive 50 points as a 50th anniversary award. Passengers who travel in Green cars on any of the eligible segments or services during the campaign period will receive five times the points.

Rides that span the Tokaido and Kyushu Shinkansen, those using only a rail pass, fully paid with railway points, or using a round-trip pass are excluded from this offer. WESTER points will be credited around late March 2025 and are valid until the end of March 2026. No entry is required.
