Jeju Airplane Crash: 177 Confirmed Dead, Incident Details Revealed
The South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport announced that 177 passengers and crew members have been confirmed dead following the crash of Jeju Air flight 7C2216 at Muan International Airport.

A total of 1,572 personnel, including firefighters, police, and military, were mobilized to respond. Eight aviation accident investigators and nine aviation safety officers are currently collecting debris and gathering evidence at the scene.
Compensation for the families of the victims is being provided through a total insurance coverage of 1.4 trillion South Korean won (approximately 1 billion US dollars), with Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance being the primary insurance company, supported by four other companies and AXA XL as the reinsurance company.
Furthermore, a special measure is being implemented to waive cancellation fees on all routes for bookings made by December 29.
