On December 28, local time, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flight KL1204 (Boeing 737-800, registration: PH-BXM) from Oslo to Amsterdam changed its destination to Sandefjord after a loud abnormal noise was detected during takeoff, resulting in an emergency landing.
The flight departed Oslo at 5:59 PM and arrived in Sandefjord at 7:08 PM. Upon landing, the aircraft veered off the runway at low speed and came to a stop on a grassy area. There were no injuries among the 6 crew members and 176 passengers on board. Passengers were transported back to Oslo by bus, and accommodations were provided to those who wished.
A replacement aircraft was scheduled to be sent to Oslo on the afternoon of the 29th, with passengers receiving support at both airports. Additionally, a technical team is expected to travel to Sandefjord for the purposes of accident investigation and aircraft repair.
