ANA Flight Experiences Turbulence Causing Fracture to Crew Member; Classified as Aviation Accident
South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport to Conduct Special Inspections of Navigational Safety Facilities Around Runways
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport of South Korea will carry out special inspections of navigational safety facilities around runways.
This comes after an incident on December 29, where a Jeju Airplane had a belly landing at Muan International Airport, colliding with a landing guidance device known as a “Localizer,” which subsequently caught fire. The localizer is set on a concrete base, and its installation has been reported as one of the reasons that exacerbated the accident.
The Ministry will inspect the placement, height, and material of navigational safety facilities at airports nationwide from January 2 to 8.
