Emirates Commences Commercial Operations of Airbus A350-900 Aircraft
Emirates has commenced commercial operations of its Airbus A350-900 aircraft on January 3.
The inaugural route for the aircraft is the Dubai-Edinburgh line. Originally scheduled to start on November 4, the operation was postponed due to delays in receiving the aircraft.
The Airbus A350-900 aircraft features 32 Business Class seats in a ‘1-2-1’ configuration, 21 Premium Economy Class seats in a ‘2-3-2’ configuration, and 259 Economy Class seats in a ‘3-3-3’ configuration, totaling 312 seats.
Starting January 8, the aircraft will also be introduced on the Dubai-Bahrain-Kuwait route. Moreover, Emirates plans to expand the aircraft’s operations to eight cities including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Colombo, Lyon, Muscat, and Bologna.
This marks the first time Emirates has added a new aircraft model to its fleet since 2008, with plans to incorporate 65 Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
