Osaka Metro to Revise Timetables in January for Central Line: Yumeshima Station Opens
Osaka Metro will implement a timetable revision on the Central Line.
The timetable revision will be carried out in two phases in January. The first phase, on January 11th, will increase the maximum speed between Osaka Port and Cosmosquare Station from 70 km/h to 95 km/h. This will shorten the travel time between the two stations by about 30 to 35 seconds. Additionally, the introduction of movable platform barriers at all stations will result in longer stopping times, leading to increases in travel times and earlier last train departures. The number of services will increase on weekdays by 7 trains for inbound and 9 for outbound, and on weekends/holidays by 1 train for inbound and 2 for outbound.
The second phase of the revision, on January 19th, is due to the opening of Yumeshima Station, changing the terminal station from Cosmosquare Station to Yumeshima Station. The schedule and number of services at each station will remain unchanged from the timetable revised on January 11th.
