Israel Begins Full Operation of Electronic Travel Authorization System
The Government of Israel has initiated the full operation of the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL) system starting January 1.
This system is aimed at those entering the country under visa exemption agreements, such as tourists and short-term business travelers, and is valid for a period of two years. Applications must be made at least 72 hours before travel. Failure to obtain a relevant visa or electronic travel authorization may result in denial of boarding on a flight or entry into the country. The application fee is set at 25 Israeli Shekels.
Although the system started operating on July 1, 2024, and was initially in a pilot phase until July 31, this period was extended to December 31.
