Marriott International Opens ‘W Sao Paulo’ and ‘W Residences Sao Paulo’

Marriott International has opened ‘W Sao Paulo’ and ‘W Residences Sao Paulo’.

Located on the site of the former Teatro Via Funchal in the business district of southern Sao Paulo, Funchal Street. W Hotel occupies floors 25 and above, while W Residences are located from the 2nd to the 22nd floor. This marks the W brand’s debut in Brazil.

The design was in collaboration with Aflalo/Gasperini Arquitetos, with landscaping by Benedito Abbud and interiors by Nini Andrade Silva. Featuring sharp lines, graceful curves, and vivid colors in green, blue, metallic, and gold shades, it encapsulates Brazilian modernist architecture and incorporates organic materials from Brazil such as stone and wood.

W Sao Paulo features 179 guest rooms, including 16 suites, an AWAY Spa, FIT gym, and an outdoor WET Deck pool, in addition to restaurants and bars like ‘L40 Cozinha de Latitude’ offering dishes from 16 regions around the world using local ingredients, and ‘Baio Cozinha Sulista’, which presents an innovative take on South Brazilian cuisine. The hotel also boasts 5 event spaces including a spacious 400 square meter Great Room.

Programs focusing on music, gastronomy, and wellness have been introduced, including sunset rituals on the WET Deck, stretching bossa nova in the FIT gym, wine tasting at the BAIO restaurant, and rejuvenation sessions at the AWAY Spa.

W Residences comprise 216 units ranging from 53 to 102 square meters. Residents have access to an indoor pool, two saunas, a relaxation area, FIT gym, co-working space, and an event hall.
