The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has updated its danger information for Bangladesh, lowering the danger level for certain areas.
The danger level for all areas except the Chittagong (Chattogram) Hill Tracts (Khagrachari, Rangamati, and Bandarban districts) has been lowered to Level 1 (Caution).
From July to August of 2024, nationwide protests and demonstrations intensified, resulting in numerous casualties. In response, the Bangladesh government issued a curfew and took extensive security measures. After the establishment of a provisional government, the violent protests subsided, and the situation is said to have stabilized.
