Eurowings is set to introduce 40 Boeing 737-8 aircraft.
Lufthansa Group has decided to allocate them from its orders. The equipment for short to medium-haul will be integrated in stages. The deal is valued at approximately 5 billion USD at catalog prices, making it the largest in history.
Delivery is expected to start in 2027 and be completed by 2032. The plan will gradually replace Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft. Compared to the Airbus A319, the new aircraft features 39 more seats and a longer range, making it suitable for medium to long-haul routes.
Eurowings, based in Cologne, Germany, is a leisure airline with a strong market presence in Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Stuttgart, and Cologne/Bonn. It operates on a point-to-point basis and aims for continuous business expansion in Europe.
