Osaka Metro and City Bus to Abolish Transfer Discounts, Introduce Transfer Points
Osaka Metro and Osaka City Bus will launch the “Transfer Points” service starting April 1.
The service applies to transfers from subway to bus/Imazato Line, different bus routes (within 90 minutes), bus to Imazato Line (same), and different Imazato Line routes (same), awarding up to 230 Osaka Points. It targets usage with PiTaPa or ICOCA registered as e METRO members, excluding Mobile ICOCA, Apple Pay ICOCA, and commuting passes on PiTaPa and ICOCA.
With the introduction of this service, the transfer discount system will end on March 31. Currently, a discount of 100 yen is offered for transfers between subway and bus, 160 yen for subway to Imazato Line transfers, and 210 yen for different bus routes, bus to Imazato Line transfers, and different Imazato Line routes (all within 90 minutes).
