SAS’s 1 Million Miles Campaign: 149 Japanese Complete 15 Airlines Challenge, Over 900 Achieved, Youngest is 4 Years Old

Scandinavian Airlines unveiled the results of its campaign offering up to 1 million miles through the use of SkyTeam member airlines.

This campaign was conducted from October 8 to December 31, 2024, following Scandinavian Airlines’ joining of the SkyTeam alliance. EuroBonus members who used 5 airlines during this period received 10,000 bonus points; those using 10 airlines received 100,000 bonus points; and those using 15 airlines received 1 million bonus points.

Regarding information shared by some foreign blogs, Scandinavian Airlines stated that it was based on inaccurate data and shared the latest information with this publication, along with providing officially compiled images. Some participants have claimed that there are delays in reflecting post-event accruals, and the final results might change.

The number of participants was about 50,000, out of which over 900 people earned 1 million miles. The youngest participant was 4 years old, the oldest 73, and the average age was 40. Women accounted for 30% of participants. The longest EuroBonus membership dates back to May 1992.

By nationality, Americans (173), Japanese (149), South Koreans (130), and Chinese (112) were the top four outside the Scandinavian Peninsula. Sweden ranked 5th with 67 people, Norway 7th with 49, and Denmark 9th with 22. Many of the top participants were from Asia.

On average, those who achieved 1 million miles visited 17 countries across 4 continents and 23 airports. Nine people visited 6 continents (Africa, Asia, South America, North America, Europe, Oceania), and 22% visited at least 5 continents. The most flown airline was Scandinavian Airlines, and everyone visited China at least once. 92% of all flights were in economy class.
