JAL Starts Operation of A350-1000 on Haneda-Los Angeles Route, Replacing 777-300ER
British Airways has acquired the hangar and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) operations at London Gatwick Airport owned by Boeing.
British Airways will establish British Airways Engineering Gatwick (BAMG) as a wholly-owned subsidiary. Employees currently employed by Boeing are expected to transfer to the new company as early as the second quarter of this year after consultations.
As part of a strategy to expand its engineering operations, British Airways enhances its role and capability as a major engineering hub. This includes continuing to perform minor maintenance on Boeing 777 aircraft, as well as carrying out some scheduled heavy maintenance on Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft internally.
