Chubu Centrair International Airport will sell a “Original Aviation Safety Amulet” with a limited edition design for its 20th anniversary.
This item has been sold since 2020 at the “Airline Fan Meeting ‘AIRLINE EXPO IN JAPAN'”, where various participating airlines set up booths and stages. It is a popular item that sells out within 1-2 hours of the event’s start each year. The quantity for sale was increased from the usual 500 to 2,000 to match the “20th” anniversary.
The amulet features a glamorous design based on gold to celebrate the 20th anniversary. The front side depicts a “Follow-Me Car” with a number plate showing the airport’s opening date “0217”, while the back sports the limited edition 20th anniversary logo. It includes pieces of rubber from aircraft attached to the airport’s runway, and is prayed for aviation safety at the Aviation Shrine in Kyoto.
Advance reservations (1,400 units) will be accepted from noon on February 27, and they will also be sold during the “9th Airline Fan Meeting ‘AIRLINE EXPO IN JAPAN'” on March 8 and 9 (100 units each day) as well as online (400 units) starting at 10 AM on March 8.
