The Lufthansa Group plans to acquire the ground handling business at Munich Airport.
Negotiations have begun to acquire Swissport Losch, which manages ground handling operations at Munich Airport under Swissport Cargo Services Deutschland and Losch Airport Service Munich. The acquisition is conditional upon approval by the relevant authorities.
Later this year, plans are in place to begin handling some group flights. By transitioning to an in-house ground handling system at major hubs, the company aims to contribute to the stability of their operations.
Swissport Losch is responsible for handling passengers, baggage, and cargo at Munich Airport, managing over 300 departures a day and employing over 900 staff.
