Panasonic and Osaka Metro: Trial of Open Air Conditioned Station Waiting Booth Until September
Kintetsu Railway, Kintetsu Bus, and Kintetsu Real Estate have completed the development of a bus terminal and station at Osaka Uehonmachi Station to improve convenience, and will start operations from March 21.
The bus terminal has been renovated, expanding the island-type bus stop to three berths. A new passage to the bus terminal has also been developed, and a new ticket gate “Bus Terminal Ticket Gate” has been installed between the new passage and the ground platform. An entrance has been newly established near the main entrance on the first floor to secure access from Sheraton Miyako Hotel Osaka to the bus terminal and station.
In addition, guide functions including railway and bus information, waiting space and toilets, escalators connecting the new passage and bus terminal, along with barrier-free elevators, have been installed.
The shuttle bus from Osaka Uehonmachi Station to the Osaka/Kansai Expo venue will operate eight times every 30 minutes from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for the outbound route and 15 times every 30 minutes from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the return route. The return route will only pass through Tenshiba. The journey time is 40 minutes for the outbound route and 1 hour 5 minutes for the return route. The fare is 1,200 yen.
