Panasonic and Osaka Metro: Trial of Open Air Conditioned Station Waiting Booth Until September
Nishi-Nippon Railroad will extend the trial operation of the ‘Completely Cashless Bus’ implemented on two routes until March 31, 2026.
The ‘Completely Cashless Bus’ is a bus limited to non-cash payment methods (cashless payments) for fare payments. It has been operating since December 2024 on the Hakata Station to Fukuoka Airport International Terminal line and in the Fukuoka BRT in the Tenjin, Hakata Station, and Waterfront areas. The trial was initially set to end on February 28, but due to observed benefits such as increased cashless payment ratio and reduced delays from smoother boarding and alighting, the trial period will be extended.
Payment methods include transportation IC cards (nimoca, Hayakaken, Suica, SUGOCA, etc.), contactless credit card payments (Visa, JCB, American Express, etc.), and various travel passes (such as SUNQ Pass). Digital tickets are also supported.
