JAL and AA Consider Adding Alaska Airlines Group to Joint Venture
Etihad Airways and Air Europa have begun negotiations to expand their partnership.
Currently, they are engaged in joint operations (code sharing) and mileage collaboration, and plan to upgrade this to a strategic partnership.
Etihad Airways will increase flights on the Abu Dhabi–Madrid route to two round trips per day and expand operations to Air Europa’s hubs. This will further strengthen connections between Europe and Latin America, and the Middle East and Asia.
As a result, Air Europa will gain opportunities to enter the Middle East and Asia, while Etihad Airways will expand into Latin America. On the same route, there is also exploration of the possibility of wet leasing Air Europa’s aircraft by Etihad Airways.
