JAL Increases Required Miles for International Award Tickets, Significant Hike for First Class

Japan Airlines (JAL) will change the required miles for international award tickets on some routes and classes, effective from tickets issued on June 10.

The base mileage for all classes except First Class will increase by up to 10,000 miles on Oceania routes, up to 7,500 miles on North American routes, up to 5,000 miles on Southeast Asia, South Asia, Europe, and Hawaii routes, up to 2,000 miles on East Asia routes, and up to 500 miles on Guam routes. Some routes and classes will remain unchanged or be reduced.

The required miles for First Class during the regular season will significantly increase to 75,000 miles for Southeast Asia, 97,500 miles for Oceania, 100,000 miles for Hawaii, and 125,000 miles for Europe and North America.

These are the required miles per one-way trip.
