Embraer has announced plans to build an aircraft manufacturing and maintenance facility in Poland.
In addition to the KC-390 assembly line, the facility will handle the conversion of commercial aircraft from passenger to cargo, sub-assembly of E2 structural parts, and landing gear overhaul. It is projected to contribute US$ 3 billion to the Polish economy over 10 years and create 5,000 jobs. Embraer aims to make Poland its hub in Europe.
Poland already hosts many key suppliers for the E2 program, with seats manufactured in Świebodzin, auxiliary power units in Rzeszów, and major engine parts in Kalisz. Approximately 30% of the E2 is manufactured in the EU, with wings produced in Portugal and other major components in France, Germany, Austria, Spain, and Belgium.
