JAL and AA Consider Adding Alaska Airlines Group to Joint Venture
Japan Airlines (JAL) and Kalitta Air have agreed to code share on cargo flights between Tokyo/Narita and Chicago.
From April 4 to 26, the cargo flights will operate under Kalitta Air’s flight numbers, providing space for cargo, and the code share will begin on May 10. In April, flights will operate twice a week, increasing to three weekly flights via Anchorage starting from May. The aircraft will be a Boeing 747-400F until May and a Boeing 777-300ERSF from June onwards.
By adding Kalitta Air’s cargo space, JAL aims to capture demand for air cargo between Asia and North America. On May 31, JAL will launch passenger flights on the Tokyo/Narita to Chicago route.
