Choice Hotels Japan will open the Comfort Hotel Kii-Tanabe on May 29.
The building has 6 floors above ground, with 123 rooms. All rooms are non-smoking and feature art panels using Kishu Binchotan charcoal, original Choice pillows, Choice bed pads, and Choice Original 7ZONE mattresses. Connecting rooms are also available, allowing adjacent one-bedroom units to be used together.
The hotel offers a paid parking lot for 142 cars and a free open space for guests named “Comfort Library Cafe.” “Comfort Library Cafe” incorporates designs featuring the Kii Mountain Range, couches inspired by Kishu plums, and black accents representing Kishu Binchotan charcoal and Yatagarasu on pillars, as well as lighting inspired by cedar silhouettes. It can be used before check-in and after check-out, with counter seats, box seats, bench sofas, Wi-Fi, power outlets, and over 100 books on travel and the local area selected by a professional book director.
The complimentary breakfast buffet includes smoothies made with seasonal fruits and vegetables, a salad bar stocked with seasonal vegetables, and a local delicacies menu using Wakayama ingredients such as Kishu plums and mandarins.
