ITA Airways has relocated its terminals in Frankfurt and Munich.
As part of network optimization with the Lufthansa Group, seamless connections without terminal transfers have become possible. The relocation was carried out to coincide with the start of the summer schedule, with the move taking place on the night of March 29.
In Frankfurt, the terminal moved from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1. In the future, flights will depart and arrive at Gate Areas A and B, significantly reducing transit times. Additionally, convenience for transfers to high-speed trains with Deutsche Bahn (DB) from Terminal 1 has improved. In Munich, the move was from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 and its satellite.
In Brussels, Rome, Vienna, and Zurich, other hub airports of the Lufthansa Group are already using the same terminal. In the coming weeks, further efforts such as relocating check-in counters next to each other will be implemented.
From the summer schedule, joint operations (codeshare) have been implemented, and sales have been integrated. Over 100 codeshare routes within Europe have been added, and more than 50,000 tickets combining ITA Airways and Lufthansa Group companies have been purchased in three weeks. It has also become possible to use about 130 lounges of the Group and partners.
