Qatar Airways Group and Virgin Australia have obtained final approval for their partnership from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
With this approval, both airlines can engage in joint sales and marketing activities on the Doha to Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney routes operated by Qatar Airways. In February, Qatar Airways Group had already acquired a 25% stake in Virgin Australia.
Additionally, Virgin Australia will launch services on the Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane to Doha routes in June and the Perth to Doha route in December. These routes will be operated using Qatar Airways’ aircraft and crew under a wet lease agreement.
