Emirates Expands Airbus A350 Routes to Africa and Southeast Asia

Emirates has announced the deployment of the Airbus A350-900 on seven new routes.

The Airbus A350-900 features 312 seats with a “1-2-1” configuration for 32 business class seats, a “2-3-2” configuration for 21 premium economy class seats, and a “3-3-3” configuration for 259 economy class seats.

The aircraft will be introduced to Tunis (6 weekly round trips) and Amman (1 daily round trip) starting June 1, Istanbul and Dammam from July 1, Ho Chi Minh from August 1, Baghdad (3 weekly round trips) from August 3, and Oslo (1 daily round trip) from September 1.

Additionally, the aircraft will be added to flight EK835/836 to Bahrain from June 1, turning all flights to this model, and to flight EK857/858 to Kuwait from October 1, making it a twice-daily service. Further, the Bologna route’s deployment is moved up to June 1, a month ahead of schedule.

This expansion is expected to strengthen short to medium-haul routes in the Middle East, GCC region, and Europe. More destinations, including long-haul routes, are planned to be announced as additional aircraft of the same model are introduced over the coming months.
