The AirAsia Group has prohibited the use of mobile batteries onboard starting April 1.
Passengers must keep mobile batteries with them at all times and store them under the seat or in the seat pocket in front during the flight. Storing them in the overhead compartment or checking them in as luggage is prohibited. If you are bringing a mobile battery with a capacity between 100Wh and 160Wh, you need to obtain approval from the airline at the check-in counter.
This safety measure has been implemented following fire incidents suspected to be related to mobile batteries onboard. Similar measures are spreading among Asian airlines, mainly in countries like South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand.
