Cathay Pacific Airways Launches Service to Urumqi with Over 300 Weekly Flights to Mainland China This Summer
China Eastern Airlines will launch the Shanghai/Pudong-Abu Dhabi route on April 28.
They will operate four round trips per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The Airbus A330 aircraft will be used. The travel time is 9 hours 55 minutes from Shanghai/Pudong and 9 hours 20 minutes from Abu Dhabi.
This is part of a joint venture with Etihad Airways, which they signed a contract for in June 2024, making it the first Chinese airline to operate this route. Abu Dhabi is a key point in China’s Belt and Road Initiative, promoting trade and human exchange between the two countries.
Currently, China Eastern Airlines operates five routes to two Middle Eastern cities, Dubai and Riyadh.
