The aviation authorities of Japan and Oman are expanding the framework for air service operations between Japan and Oman.
In addition to Kansai International Airport, a new framework has been established that allows operations between Oman and all Japanese airports except Haneda. Currently, there are no regular flights operating between Japan and Oman.
Furthermore, both Japanese and Omani airlines will be able to engage in code-sharing with all airlines on international routes, including those of third countries, and code-sharing with airlines of the other country on domestic routes.
The discussions took place on April 21 and 22, attended by Yasushi Takahashi, Director of the International Air Transport Division of Japan, and Salim Hamed Al-Husaini, Director of Air Transport of Oman.
