Nishi-Nippon Railroad Begins Operation of Articulated Buses Between Hakata Station and Fukuoka Airport International Terminal
Nishi-Nippon Railroad has introduced four articulated buses between Hakata Station and Fukuoka Airport International Terminal and commenced operation on April 26.
This is in response to inbound demand, and the transport capacity per trip increases by about 1.5 times. The articulated vehicles being introduced are manufactured by Hino Motors, with a total length of approximately 18 meters, a width of approximately 2.5 meters, a height of approximately 3.3 meters, and equipped with the Emergency Driving Stop System (EDSS). The passenger capacity is 119.
Due to the timetable revision accompanying the introduction of the articulated buses, the stop at Hakata Station will change from platform 11 of Hakata Bus Terminal to Hakata Station Chikushi Exit bus stop, and the number of services will increase from 74 to 77. The buses operate with a system of 6 vehicles per day, and 2 conventional route buses continue to run.
The fare is 310 yen one-way for adults. A full cashless bus pilot test is being conducted until March 31, 2026, allowing for the use of cashless payments other than cash.
