Qatar Airways Places Order for Up to 210 Boeing Widebody Aircraft

Qatar Airways has announced an order for up to 210 Boeing aircraft, marking the largest Boeing aircraft order for the airline.

The breakdown includes a confirmed order for 160 aircraft, comprising 130 Boeing 787s and 30 Boeing 777-9s. There is also an option for an additional 50 of these models. For Boeing, this represents the largest widebody order in its history, as well as the largest order for the Boeing 787.

The announcement coincided with President Trump’s visit to Qatar, with the signing ceremony attended by President Trump and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The engines will include 60 GE9X engines and 260 GEnx engines from GE Aerospace, with an order exceeding 400 engines when including options and spare parts. This is GE Aerospace’s largest order for widebody aircraft engines.
