Starflyer and Dai-ichi Smart Small Amount and Short Term Insurance have revised the airline ticket cancellation insurance “Starflyer Safe Reservation Insurance” and will offer it from May 29.
Currently, it provides compensation for cancellation fees incurred when a ticket is canceled for unavoidable reasons such as family hospitalization, pet hospitalization/surgery, or damage from disasters.
The revision adds coverage for cases such as event cancellations or postponements, traffic accidents, attendance at funerals, and receiving documents related to jury or alternate jury selection procedures.
The insurance premium is 500 yen per seat per segment, and it needs to be paid by credit card at the time of application. Eligible tickets are those purchased individually on the official website with early purchase discount fares, and the application period is within 7 days of ticket purchase and at least 7 days before the boarding date.
