DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Station will offer a Japanese-style afternoon tea from June 1 to August 31.
The hotel’s first afternoon tea, themed “Beautiful Kyoto,” features a menu of 8 items that pair well with tea, matcha, and coffee. The sweets include aromatic matcha baked goods and chilled shiratama zenzai. Savory options include raw wheat gluten from Kyoto’s long-established “Hanbeyfu,” rich cheese madeleines, and mini-sized inari sushi. The signature dessert since the hotel’s opening, “Bonsai Tiramisu,” can also be chosen as an optional menu. The drink menu offers matcha from “Ippodo” and three carefully selected teas from the Sri Lankan tea brand “Dilmah.”
The venue is the café lounge “Globe Lounge.” The service runs from 11 AM to 4 PM, with the last order at 3:30 PM. The price is 3,500 yen. The optional “Bonsai Tiramisu” costs an additional 1,500 yen. All prices include tax and service charges. Reservations are required, but same-day bookings are possible.
