Toyoko Inn to Sell ‘Local GENKI Badges’ from April 1
Suiran, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Kyoto, will sell the summer-limited ‘Hassui Shaved Ice’ from June 1 to September 30.
The syrup used for the renewed ‘Hassui Matcha Shaved Ice’ is an original matcha “Yamakaze,” created to emulate the scenery visible from Suiran. It blends the “Samidori” and “Yabukita” strains cultivated in Kyoto’s Joyo and Wazuka. Inside the pure ice, sourced from the deep natural water of Shinshu, are “Hisui Mochi” made with “Yamakaze” and kudzu, along with bean paste. Condiments include salted kelp. The newly introduced ‘Hassui Espresso Shaved Ice’ features specialty syrup utilizing the aroma of coffee beans, topped with espresso espuma. Inside the ice is hidden vanilla ice cream.
The location is the riverside cafe ‘Saryo Hassui’ along the Hozu River. Business hours are from 11 AM to 5 PM. The price is 3,800 yen each, including a drink, tax, and service charge.
