ANA Introduces Shark Skin Film on 777F Cargo Aircraft for Fuel Efficiency and CO2 Reduction
All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Peach Aviation will refund passenger fares and charges that were collected without proper notification or approval.
At ANA, between October 2023 and December 2024, the total fares, which include an additional amount for certain high-demand international flights, exceeded the approved maximum amount. There were approximately 180 cases, resulting in overcharging by about 6.2 million yen.
When selling a new fare where the second or additional checked baggage is charged, the approval for the second baggage charge was not obtained. From July 2024 to this May, approximately 5,000 cases were sold, leading to an inappropriate collection of about 90 million yen.
Additionally, there was an error in setting the foreign currency amount for paid seat assignments and pre-paid additional baggage services sold overseas. Instead of selling at the foreign currency-approved price, transactions were conducted by converting the yen amount into foreign currency. Approximately 450 cases were sold between April 15 and 16, resulting in a difference of about 420,000 yen; however, this undercollection posed no disadvantage to the users.
At Peach, a lapse in the notification for fares on the Osaka/Kansai to Nagasaki route led to sales conducted without the required notification from August 27 to September 3, 2024. Approximately 630 seats were sold, amounting to around 4.7 million yen.
