Quintessa Hotel Hiroshima Kanayama-cho Rebrands and Opens in August
Hoshino Resorts will reopen “KAI Hakone” on August 13.
With the concept of “Immerse in Tokaido’s history, a Hakone-like hot spring inn,” the hotel features settings and hospitality that evoke the spirit of travelers who journeyed along the Tokaido.
In the guest rooms, travel tools spread by travelers in inns are incorporated into wall art and bed throws. All rooms have been remodeled as “Hakone Gokochi no Ma” local rooms. In the “Hakone Gokochi Suite,” limited to just two rooms, a 110 square meter space separates desk and sofa areas, and the bathroom includes both an open-air bath and a post-bath relaxation area called “Ishi no Ma.”
The local experience offered in collaboration with the craftsmen of the Hakone Yosegi-Mokuzai workshop “Tsuyuki Woodworking” includes a new “Yosegi-Zukehiki Experience,” where guests can experience part of the creation process of Yosegi-Zaiku. Guests can shave a “Tanegi” made of combined patterned parts with a plane and take it home as a photo frame while learning about the flow until it is made into a Yosegi-Zaiku in the local experience room.
Additionally, a relaxation space “Sawa Chaya” inspired by tea houses along the Hakone road will be opened in the courtyard. Upon arrival, staff will serve tea and Japanese sweets, and after dinner, herbal tea or alcohol will be available. It can also be used for rest after bathing or before departure.
The rate per person when using a room for two people is from 38,000 yen per night with two meals included. Tax and service charges are included.
